I love having a best friend. You know, that one person that you do everything with. Today I made a new "best friend" Murphy. He contacted me early this morning and I think he finally went home. Let me explain.
Murphy first arrived around 2:00am when my peaceful slumber was interrupted by a very unhappy 5 week old. I fed her, burped her, and tried to get her back to sleep. She of course was having none of that and screamed for nearly 45 min before I gave in and let her sleep in my bed with me. I was so tired after dealing with her I was excited to get to go back to sleep. This enthusiasm was short lived however because at 6:00 I heard more crying. This time the crying came from Ridge who was standing outside my door begging me to open it. Once the door was opened I was greeted with a very pleasant "Good morning mom" from a very wet Dyson. (he had wet the bed) So I got out of my very warm and inviting bed to bath the boys and scrub the mattress and wash clothes. Needless to say my day started a little earlier than I had planned.
I had a doctors appointment today and my mom was going to watch the boys for me while I attended. I had hoped that Murphy would see that I was busy and head home, but in true best friend fashion he decided to keep me company. So we all loaded up in the van and headed to my mom's house. We were going along just fine until the idiot light came on indicating that the van was getting hot. I decided to take it a little slower and moved into the right had lane on the freeway so I didn't anger the other drivers too much. I was able to coax the car into behaving until Murphy decided to take over. Just as we were exiting the freeway I lost power steering and I realized my car had just over heated and the engine had seized. So I pulled over to the side of the off ramp and called my mom. She in turn called my dad and arrangements were made to get me and my 3 kids to safety.
By this time I was beginning to feel like Murphy had worn out his welcome and it really was time for him to leave but he had more wonderful surprises for me. Through out the course of the day my phone died, Dyson peed his pants, Ridge pulverised a doughnut in my dad's truck, and I was puked on repeatedly.
Right now I am sitting in my bed with all the kids asleep thinking back on my day with Murphy, and all I can think is that I hope he had such a busy day that he takes some time to recuperate.
Thanks Murphy for a busy and memorable day.

This is very well written! I would say this deserves an award! Absolutely awesome! Such a good spin on a very rough day! I'm impressed! Love you Babes!
so sorry for the bad day...but what a clever post!
Wow! You have a positive outlook on the whole thing. I think I'd be in bed crying by the end of it all, but you were coming up with a creative reason for the craziness. Thanks for the funny post..I think I'll have to thank Murphy for my crazy days too! Or maybe I'll come up with my own name...we're not too old to have imaginary friends/enemies are we?
So good to hear from you!!
We're doing well, still in the same ward :) It's just not the same!
YOur kids are so cute and SO big. I can't believe you have 3!!
