Hubby Tag

I got tagged by Jason's cousin's wife. This is the first time I've been tagged so I though I would give it a try.
Here we go.

Where we met: In Encore. It was an institute show choir at the UofU where we sang and danced.

How long did you date before you got married? We met in September, but we weren't allowed to date in encore so technically we didn't date. but we had our first kiss in October, were engaged in November, and were married in March. So from first kiss to married it was 5 months.

Favorite feature about him? If this is purely physical I'd say it is his butt and his eyes. Oh and he has GREAT hair too.

Favorite quality? His integrity, his hard work, his willingness to sacrifice for his family. He is an amazing dad and husband and he loves to surprise me with little things to make sure I knows he loves me. He also listens to me no matter what I have to say. And I don't mean in the absent minded nodding and uh huh ing kind of way. He really listens. He is wonderful!

What's his nickname for me? Babes, Gorgeous, and Beautiful. He actually doesn't even call me by my name. When he does it catches me off guard. My boys have even started calling me Babes and Gorgeous because he calls me that so often.

His favorite color? Blue

Favorite food? Italian. His favorite dessert is his mom's pecan pie and tapioca pudding.

Favorite sport? He doesn't watch sports on TV but his favorite one to play is soccer.

Who said "I love you" first? He did. The very first time was on the phone by accident. Before he hung up he said " ok, talk to you later, love you, bye." after I hung up the phone I just stood there and didn't know what to do. Then later he came over to my apartment and when he was leaving he said it for real.

First kiss, where and when? It was in the parking lot of the institute after a choir social. On October 18th 2002

Favorite couple thing to do? We like to read books together, cook together and watch movies together. And since we've been in Grenada we enjoy going to the beach together.

How many kids? 3. 2 boys and a girl.

His hidden talent? One of the things that he is good at but doesn't do in front of people much is ballroom dancing. We always dance in the kitchen when we cook together. It is so much fun.

His age? 28. He'll be 29 in February.

His favorite music? He likes all sorts of music for different things he is doing. He enjoys anything with a good beat when he works out, and classical for when he is studying. He also likes 80's music

Favorite past times? He loves to read, and play with his kids. He also really loves to go the beach and sleep. He enjoys working out (I think he might be addicted, haha) and going on dates with his wife.

Will he read this? Yes he will. And I think he should go through and tell you if I got any of these wrong.

I tag: Heather, Sara W, Sara J, Shauna, Casey, Ashlee, and anyone else who wants to do it.

(interjection by Jas: Yeah Babes, you got it all dead on!)

Nothing Whatever

We don't have much to report on the Grenada front. We are enjoying the break that Jason is having from school. We have spent most of the days at the beach and taking care of some organization that was neglected the first month I got here.
Bitti is growing so fast I can hardly believe it. She holds her head up really great and can even roll over from her tummy to her back. She is on a pretty predictable schedule now, which is really helpful, and her colic fits seem to be behind her for the most part.
We are planning a pretty simple Christmas again this year. Spending the holidays away from the hustle and bustle of the USA does have it's perks. There is no competition with your peers here. We are all in the same situation and we are all just happy to be able to spend the time together. We do have a few simple gifts for the kids that include clothes and underwear (they will be particularly excited for the underwear) along with gifts from aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. Even being far way from home we can't keep the kids from being spoiled.

Dyson is getting really excited about the idea of starting preschool in January. We are going to enroll him in the GAP program that is here for the families of students. I hope he enjoys his time.

I have started doing a workout/warmup with a friend of mine and I am hoping it helps me lose the last few pounds and get into better shape. I am actually down to my pre pregnancy weight but my body just doesn't look the same. I'm a little flabbier all over. Hopefully this new workout (and i'm going to try running too..I know, I know, I'm either crazy or desperate, or both) will help put me back together again.

We are all doing really great, and although we miss you all terribly I can't say that I would rather be anywhere else. After 8 months of being apart from Jason not even the holidays away from home could tempt me to be anywhere but here. I have really come to enjoy the holidays with just our little family. The peace that we have here in our own little world in unbelievable and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm glad that so many of our friends were able to make the trip home and that they are where they want to be during this holiday season, but I am truely happy where I am.

Happy Holidays to all!

Beach Time

I think this video pretty much says it all.

2 MONTHS!

Our little girl is 2 months old today! In some respects it's hard to believe that so much time has passed, but with all the new things she can do sometimes she seems older than that.

We love to take her to the beach. She loves it too. Whenever she is in the water she is calm an happy. She loves the way the water rocks her and I think she also likes the closeness she has to whoever is holding her.
The other day we took her out in the waves and she had the best time. Some of the waves were kind of big so I had to hold her away from me so she didn't get splashed, she didn't seem to mind. In fact she never made and unhappy noise as long as we were in the water.

She has also rolled over for the first time. Of course it was on accident and she startled herself but I was pretty impressed with her none the less. This is a picture of her right before she rolled over

and this one is just after she did it. You can see that she wasn't very happy about her new accomplishment.

She is growing so fast that we can't believe it. She is a good sleeper and a good eater. We just need to convince her that she doesn't need to throw up after every feeding and that she doesn't have to scream just because she's awake. Haha.
