Mother's Day

I had the best Mother's Day I could imagine. It started with a surprise breakfast of strawberries and cream and juice, served on a beautiful tray decorated with a white rose and a package of Twizzlers. The boys picked out a treat for me at the store. Next I got beautiful vase of flowers from Jason with a wonderful card and a trip to a spa. And the last thing I got was a pillow case that was signed and decorated by the two most adorable boys in the world.

We had a wonderful time visiting with family and talking with Jason's brother who is on a mission. He gets to come home in October so it was his last phone call home.
I feel really blessed to have the wonderful mother that I do, and just as blessed to have acquired the best mother in law. I have much to be thankful for this as I felt incredibly honored by my children and husband.

Preparing our first primary talk

I know I said that I was done blogging but Dyson said the funniest thing and I had to put it on here.
I was helping Dyson with the talk that he is supposed to give tomorrow (Mother's Day) and the topic is "Every member of my family has a divine purpose." I started by asking Dyson to tell me about each of the members of his family. We started with dad and this is what he said. "My dad is a great dad. He is lovely. He is loving and is about giving hugs and kisses. And has really great hair."
At this I had to stop and take a min. I was trying so hard not to laugh and ruin his heart felt memories of his dad. When it came time for him to tell me about his mom I was just as tickled when he told me his mom was "a good mom and looked just right." Seriously that child is a nut. And I love him!

All Good Things....

All good things must come to an end. And I'm not even sure if this blog falls into the "good things" category. I started this blog to show friends and family what we have been up to while in Grenada, but since I no longer live in Grenada this blog has little to no use.
So I say farewell to the world of blogging and all those who love it.

80%

No pictures yet, but they are coming I promise. I just wanted to write a quick post to let everyone know that I went to the doctor yesterday and he did a gender check. The machine was an older model and the baby was being a little modest so it was hard to get a 100% but as of right now we are have a girl. This is exciting news but I must be honest, I had convinced myself it was a boy so now I'm not sure what to do. I'm still processing it. I have my real ultra sound next month just after Jason comes home, so we should be able to tell for sure what it is then.
Happy Blogging to all!

Kids say the darndest things

Kids say the darndest things. This is a fact. One which I have had the pleasure of experiencing for myself.
Before we left Grenada Jason was a big part of our bedtime routine. In fact, there were several nights when Jas put the kids to bed by himself. When we left and came back to Utah the kids had a hard time adjusting to going to bed without their dad. Even though I followed the same pattern the kids were struggling. So to help them get to sleep I began singing to them. They each have their own song and I would sing that. Also, having been in Primary, I knew some of the songs that the kids are learning so I would also sing those to them. I was hoping to help Dyson learn the songs well for the program.
One of the songs they are learning is all 3 verses to I Am a Child of God. I was singing this song one night and Dys was singing along with me while I sang the first verse. He kind of knew the second verse, but he didn't know any of the third verse so he just sat and listened. When I finished the last verse I noticed he was smiling, and then he asked me to sing it again. (just the last verse) Of course being the mom that I am I was anticipating some sort of sweet spiritual comment, maybe along the lines of " I want to live with Heavenly Father again too" or " I love my blessings" or even " I am a child of God mom" So with these thoughts in mind I sang the third verse. It says: I am a child of God, rich blessings are in store, If I but learn to do His will, I'll live with Him once more.
When I finished the second time Dyson started laughing and said "Mom, you said something funny"
I was confused so I asked him what was so funny. He replied, "Mom, you said butt learn!"
I nearly died. Here I was expecting some sweet spiritual something and he gives me "butt learn." We both spent a good portion of time laughing about that one, and I still can't sing that verse without smiling and I usually laugh out loud.
I can just see the primary program now...when they finish singing that song Dyson is going to call from the front of the chapel "Mom, I said butt learn!"

Every day life

OK, so there have been several requests to post some booming belly pictures, and I will. Eventually. The problem is that it takes a lot of work to get the pictures from my camera to my computer since my memory card and my computer aren't speaking to each other. But rest assured that a baby bump is present. Although I must say that this baby bump is showing up a lot smaller than when I was having baby number 2. I can still fit into some of my regular pants, yeah.
Not much has happened here over the past week or so. The kids are finally over all their sicknesses, which is such a relief. I really hate it when the kids are sick.
I have a doctor's appointment on Monday, and we are hoping to find out the gender of the baby then, but we'll see how it goes. I'm pretty sure it's a boy but you never know. I have been craving some really interesting food. Yesterday, for the first time since I was a small child, I ate eggs! For those who don't know, I got sick eating eggs as a child and have not been able to eat them since. I have tried several times through out the years to eat eggs and I have not been able too...until yesterday. We were having egg salad sandwiches and for some reason they sounded sooo good. So I took a taste and it was so yummy! Jason called right at the time that I was enjoying my egg salad, and when I told him what I was eating he couldn't believe it. I guess it goes to show that pregnancy really does make you eat strange things!

Any Advice?

This week I find myself facing a rather unusual challenge. At least it is for me. My brother has had a girl friend for about the past 6 months. They were inseparable. They worked together and spent all their spare time together. She had a difficult life growing up and faced many hardships as a child and teen. She struggled with depression and was currently and undergoing treatment. This however wasn't enough to help her see the brighter side of life and took her own over the weekend.
According to my brother they had an argument on Friday, and that was the last anyone had heard from her. Her parents found her Sunday morning when they went to wake her for church. Of course my brother feels a little guilty since they had a fight, and blames himself to a degree for what happened. He is so devastated right now that our family fears he may try to follow in his footsteps. We don't know what to say or how to say it. Of course we don't want him to do anything drastic, but we are all a little scared. I can think of lots of things to say that are based on gospel principles but the problem is that he says he doesn't have faith in those things anymore.
Nobody in my family has ever had to face a suicide before. I'm not sure what to do. I love my brother and want to help him. It's a lot easier to deal with the natural or accidental death of someone, but this is so foreign to me I don't even know where to begin. If any of you have any advice on how to approach this sensitive situation it would be appreciated.
